I'm reaching out to you on behalf of the San Diego Natural History Museum (The Nat).
The Nat is working to improve access and use of our online resources, including our science collections, for all of our audiences. To help us accomplish this, you have been selected to share your insights in a brief survey. You are a very special group of online naturalists and your participation is critical for planning this new online experience.

As a thank you for your time, at the end of the survey you have the opportunity to enter to win one of two prizes, a special Behind the Scene Tour of our research collections for four, or two tickets to The Fantastic Worlds of William Stout Nat Talk on Tuesday, November 27 at 7 PM.

It's never too early to begin planning.
I wanted to let you all know the 2019 City Nature Challenge will take place from 12 AM on Friday, April 26 end at 11:59 PM on Monday, April 29.

Here's to sweeping all three categories!

BJ Stacey @finatic let me know about a project CalAcademy is currently running, Snapshot Cal Coast 2018, https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/snapshot-cal-coast-2018, I wanted to pass along in case you have yet to hear about it. It's a statewide effort to document plants and animals found along the California coast. No need to stick to the beach and tide pools, any coastal area in California is fair game.

The Nat is supporting this effort with a Canyoneer led hike (free) at Sunset Cliffs National Park on Wednesday, June 20 at 8 AM, https://www.sdnhm.org/calendar/public-programs/canyoneer-hikes/canyoneer-hike-list/ please join us if you can, no need to register in advance.

As this is a BioBlitz, there is no need to formally join the project on iNat. Any observations made between now and June 20 along and just offshore of California coasts will automatically be added.
