First published photos in print!

Just got my first copies of the new Princeton Field Guide - Spiders of North America by Sarah Rose and was very pleased to see that some of my photos made it into the book! I've been photographing spiders and bugs and things for several years, but these are the first that have been published in a real print book. It's a great honor to be able to contribute to such an important guide. Really, this is the book for North American spiders! Aside from the field guide part, there is a lot of great information about their natural history, anatomy, identification, tips and tricks for observing/collecting, and lots more. If you like spiders, or are even just a casual observer who finds them interesting, I highly recommend picking up a copy.

It was also fun to read through the photo credits and realize that I recognize a good 2/3 of the names from iNat, BugGuide, Facebook, Reddit, Twitter, AAS, etc. - so I wanted to give a shout out to some of the names I recognized from iNat. Congrats to all who had their photos included in this fantastic book - especially those who have never seen their name in a book before! And big thanks to Sarah Rose for the opportunity for all of us to contribute. ❤️🕷️❤️

Nice shot!!!! I need to wait for my copy to find out what I submitted. It would have been a more extensive submission if I was not laid off, moving, and then moving again during the time photos were submitted, but I was glad to help.

I should be getting my copy soon. I can't wait to read it! I love seeing authors pull information from iNat for their publications. It's been a long time goal of mine to have some of my photos in a field guide!
