Finally Warming Up!!!

What a mess this year has been!
Between the cold and wet, and the coronavirus, what a heck of a year it's been so far.
Seems to finally be warming up outside.
I've trying to get out, but some days when I'm off work, its just hard to get motivated, especially when its cold!
I've been on a few casual walks. Realizing at some point I REALLY need to invest in a new telefoto zoom lens, as a lot of my far off pics are extremely low quality. I've had my eye on one for a while, I'm just procrastinating a bit longer haha.
I got sick in February, and still haven't gotten over it entirely. 4 months later, I'm on an inhaler twice a day still. Got the antibody test, but was negative, so who knows what it was!
There are lots of things I want to get out and look at, so I really need to get a move on.
One of the things was a Jack in the Pulpit that someone identified as quinatum. I had photographed it a few years back, and didn't realize it had five leaves. Now I'm going to have to go back and see if I can find it again, because that one isn't on our state checklist from what I understand.
I also really want to see if I can find an Appalachian Swallowtail. Personal goals sigh
On another note, I invested in better internet! This should really help with motivating me to upload more! I don't have to wait forever and a day to upload a few photos! It's been really nice so far.
I hope everyone else is doing well!
Ash

Polyphemus Moth Egg Fertilization

So I want to ask if anyone knows the process for Polyphemus Moth egg fertilization?
Are they only fertilized as they are being laid (via stored sperm), or are they fertilized in the main body cavity?
Less of a journal, and more of a learning opportunity on my end!
