A tiny friend!

This small Northern Map Turtle went on quite the adventure today to get a leech removed from its arm. This small turtle really went the distance in order to have it removed and was returned later that day to its natural habitat! It was really awesome to see a Northern Map turtle at such a small size that was able to be returned to its home. This native species to Rondeau Provincial park is always a sight to behold, getting to see it up close or from a distance. The visitors center houses an adult Northern Map turtle which is also really cool to see in person!

Jump around!

The green frogs observed on Tulip Trail in Rondeau give the atmosphere of the sloughs something to ribbit about. On July 19th an observed 4 different Green frogs from the viewing platform occurred, I can only imagine the amount of Green Frogs swimming further out. The sloughs naturally occurring more permanent water-source gives the green frog a comfortable area to live. Giving them plenty of naturally occurring food sources and area to roam.
