Alligator Creek, Bowling Green Bay National Park.
This caterpillar got attention due to painful sting on my friend's hand while tidying their garden. Was feeding on leaves of Lillypilly Syzygium sp., another of this species feeding on Daintree Penda Xanthostemon verticillatus. Caterpillar kept on leaves in a jar, formed a round dark-coloured pupa. Can anyone help with accurate ID please?
Male; believe the same one seen yesterday, just moved trees.
Many of these around again, believed to be breeding again.
We have flocks most nights coming in to drink at sunset, also a few during the day. 7-8 regularly.
I would be interested if anyone could tell anything about the age of these cockatoos?
First two yellow tailed blacks in a while. 1 of 2.
Part of a flock that come regularly
Might been the same one as seen this morning, or might be another?
