Field Notes - Large leathery looking fungus. Growing amidst rocks and leaf litter at the base of a rock wall in the old quarry site. Did not appear to have gills. The main fungus had a piece broken off and I've included side and underside views of this piece. The nearest trees were Eucalypts. Looking in my fungi field guide thought maybe it could be Phlebopus marginatus???
On interior live oak, rotten
Has no gills. Just a white ball with an attachment point visible on the second photo.
I saw these mushrooms only under what I believe is Interior Live Oak trees. See my observation https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/103496370
