I haven't seen much of this type around Washington, mostly maybe because I don't tend to notice the minor differences. This one was found in the Union Bay Natural Area, near other Mallards.

for context, see daily account for 3/31 at Pack Forest. saw oregon-grape frequently in pack forest understory, often accompanied by salal and sword fern. not flowering or fruiting at this time.

3 pedaled white flower with 3 leaves. Th leaves curl up. Found at Pack Forest Park.

Ground flowering plant that has parallel veins in its leaves. Triangular to heat-shaped leaves, pinkish-white flowers.

Has pointy bristles in bunches on ends of branches. Symmetrical branches. Cones are small and exist in bunches at the end of its branches.

Legume, has tall thin stems. Abundant, has yellow flower when in bloom.

Little white flowers, leaves start upright and then droop down. Small leaves that come to a point. Found on a hike in Pack Forrest.

Oregon Grape growing near the ground alongside Ivy. Oregon grape has pointy prickly edges on its leaves.

The smooth-fronted caiman (Paleosuchus trigonatus) habits the running waters of streams and rivers in the Amazonia.

A type of berry with spiky leaves. Small ground plant.

It seems like they were planted not long ago because there weren't that many present in that area.

The Scotch broom were mostly found around the beginning of trails. They did not overpower the area and grew to about a foot to a foot and a half in length

There were many sword ferns lining the trails and camping areas that were large in size and spread out evenly among other plants on the ground.

Some type of berry that has just gone out of bloom, all of its berries were shrived up. Plant had small thorns on it's stems.
