Floating in the waves.
Caught by fishermen on side of road at Elmer's Island.
I found them in the water
This organism was about six inches long and its scales had a red and sliver hue. The organism was observed to have gills which means that it is a fish that would be classifies under the Kingdom Animalia. The Florida Museum website lists that fish commonly have two types of scales known as cycloid and ctenoid. Cycloid is when the outer margins of the scales are smooth while ctenoid is when the outer margins are toothed. This organism seemed to have smooth scales. This fish was caught and released in the Gulf of Mexico. Fish are found in almost all bodies of water all over the world.
I found this fish clinging to the dock. It was incredibly slow and had a coat of mucus in its skin. It was kind of squishy and was two to three inches long. I need help identifying it. All the suggestions I’m being given are frogs, and this was not a frog
