Viscous cap, very fibrous stem (was not able to dig for the whole stem).
Growing from ground within a foot of a birch. Flesh is bright yellow throughout cap and stem. Neither cap nor Stipe changed color when cut. As stipe dried out internal tubular structure became obvious. External appearance of stipe became fibrous. Mild taste, in the vicinity of a buttery feel.
In Doug-fir duff. Taste slowly, and mildly, acrid.
