Even those trees planted in a parking lot to provide some shade once they mature are important to wildlife and certainly in the case of birds. Great-tailed Grackles organized themselves late in the day in and around a pair of planted parking lot oak trees compliments of your local grocery store.

Image 3: The fledgling from its oak tree perch calling for food and more food of its mother who made three trips to feed its progeny inside of 20 minutes.
House Finch (Haemorhous mexicanus)

A mated pair of House Finches made their nest behind and/or inside the commodious plastic commercial sign of a nearby business. Heard their song first and spotted the pair after. The male is represented in this observation.
