Seen on Feb. 28 at around 6pm. Observed flying down and drinking melt water under a bridge. No idea what it could be but the app suggested evening bats.

We first spotted it perched on top of the Firestone sign, and after a few minutes it flew down into the parking lot where it began feeding on a dead pigeon. The merlin didn't have the pigeon while it was flying, so I wonder if it was already on the ground? We weren't sure.

I have never seen so many of these in one place! Around 25-30 of them on the ground, sitting on and under picnic tables and benches and having little squabbles. More in the air.
There were a few Turkey Vultures (141128200) present, but most were Black Vultures.
(The P1000 had, as usual, disconnected from the app so GPS was missing or wrong. Corrected manually.)

Lifer! How exciting, and how gorgeous. The yellow tail indicates it's only a few weeks old, I think. Probably a den, so I wouldn't be surprised if there were more around that I didn't see.

My uncle was on a rock across the river when these two otters tumbled onto the rock, probably coming up from the rushing water just to the right of the rock. They climbed up momentarily and then slipped back into the waters, then either staying under or swimming downstream (likely). Lucky to have gotten photos! Very chance sighting, and very cute otters.

Sensitive roost site. Exact location will not be provided in case these birds decide to return this winter. Birds were viewed ethically, no baiting, calling or any of that crap. Photos were taken from a respectful distance with a telephoto lens, and cropped. The birds eyes were open because a different photographer got wayyyy too close.

Update on 123927255 just 2 days later.
I saw 3 before but suspected there was another baby hiding in there. Yup! Here are all four. Not sure, but I think the babies are beginning to fly a bit.
Both parents were flying around while I took this.
Note: same location as 89023487 seen nearly a year earlier. Same number of chicks.
