Many stems come from the roots that have each about 5- 6 leafs that are a bright dark green with yellow little flowers aat the end of their stem. Stems look flexible but not strong enough to not carry the leafs, leafs have a rough texture but seem to create a peak at wnd by folding.

Was found growing on semi-rocky terrain, in a small valley. It had red stems and white thorns as well as small green leaves.

We walked around this arroyo with Frontera Land Alliance. It was pretty nice!
Although, I'm a bit upset that I didn't get more photos of this parasitic plant... I took several, but none of them were focused. Ah well.

These trees were loaded with their iconic fruit that gives them their name. A lot more had fallen down to the ground and were scattered just adjacent to the parent trees. Only grow in this small area along the Farmers Canal that is filled up with mountain water from Clear Creek every spring.

The Brittlebush (Encelia farinosa) is a bush plant native to Northern Mexico and the southwestern United States. Although looking like the common “weeds” that people pull from their yard, the brittlebush caught my eye with its bright yellow flowers. It was easily identifiable and comparable to photo examples found online.
