Sapling. The leaf rachis and the young stem are very fuzzy. Rachis is pink on top, green on the bottom. Leaflets serrated and attached directly to the rachis. Petiole is pinkish and is not grooved, although it looks like it may be grooved. Petiole exudes a sticky white latex when broken. Towards the end, there are two photos showing Rhus glabra (top), Rhus copallinum (middle) and Rhus typhina leaves (bottom).

This individual was seen driving south on 271. Adult Male. I found this badger hit on the side of the road and it had been there for a couple of days based on the state the animal was in. The specimen was collected by Cleveland Metroparks and will be collected by Ohio Division of Natural Resources in hopes of turning up more data about this individual.

Found a couple of them running along a forested dirt road on a ridge. They never fly but just run along the road.

A bioblitz at this property last year failed to turn up this species, though it had been reported to occur here. I was excited to find it in flower this year! I presume it was responding to increased light from ongoing invasive shrub removal projects. The flowers send their regards!

Rare; single plant under sparse tamarack canopy in sphagnum bog. This appeared to be a robust and especially floriferous specimen, at least in comparison to the plants I have observed at Cedar Bog in Champaign Co.

My friends, this isn't something you see everyday...I think I slipped into flower nirvana when I saw this.
